Surprise!!
The Rain by William Henry DaviesI hear leaves drinking rain;
I hear rich leaves on top
Giving the poor beneath
Drop after drop;
'Tis a sweet noise to hear
These green leaves drinking near.And when the Sun comes out,
After this Rain shall stop,
A wondrous Light will fill
Each dark, round drop;
I hope the Sun shines bright;
'Twill be a lovely sight.It IS a lovely sound and I'm hearing it right now!
I Thank God for the lovely rain!

What beautiful words to describe rain drops falling and bringing life to Mama Earth.
So glad you finally have rain! I hope it keeps up!
@songoftheheart - Thanks! We are so happy to have it! Our driveway was a huge dust pile and this will settle it a lot.
Lovely
We could use more rain here.
We're still looking for the rain down here. I'm so glad you got it where you are...a blessing for sure! Love your pink roses. Peace
We had wonderful rain Friday night too! You can see a difference in the plants outside. All-night-long rain. I wanted to fall asleep to the sound...I loved the patter on the skylight in our bathroom. But Steve sleeps with a fan for white noise and it drowned out the rain. I was so sad, but then reminded myself that he's the most amazing husband on earth...I think I can live with his white noise as a trade off for all his wonderfulness.
@BigToePeople - So glad you got some rain too!
yes, I think you have your priorities straight! lol It was such a soft rain here, I could only hear it when the ac was off. But it helped our road quite a bit and washed the dust off the fruit trees. o/
