Lovely Retreat
We spent last week on the coast at a beach house. It was the loveliest week EVER!!!! I have never had such a great time at the beach before. The house was beautiful, the weather was totally AWESOME and the sea was different every single day.
The first day we were there we found tons of these tiny little hermit crabs and took some pictures....They were all alive and if you put them down on the sand, immediately started
digging and burrowing down.We kept them wet most of the time...
You can see the body inside the shell here, amazing creatures!
This beach was not heavy on scenic landscaping,
but the ocean view was from vista to vista.
It was so relaxing!What a gift!!

Those are some neat creatures. You did a good job photographing them.
Amazing little creatures! The beach looks absolutely lovely! I'm glad you had a wonderful time!
I am so happy you were able to have a time of refreshing, and time with sweet little creatures! Did you build a sand castle?
@WildWomanOfTheWest - my children built several... I only took pictures of them.
What a wonderful place to be and what a wonderful adventure you had. I am happy for you:)
So glad you had a good time at the beach! Did you notice that the hermit crab shells were all different -- they steal the shells of others who have grown out of them or gone on to other things.
That is so cute! Too bad I couldn't see anything like that here. It's all empty shells whenever I go to the beach. ):
@Jellieberrie - you find them by looking for bubbles in the sand and digging them up. I had a friend here who knew how to do it.
@armnatmom - thank you!
@songoftheheart - You are so kind!
@Grannys_Place - Thank you!! You're sweet Ruth!! <3
@slmret - they are truly interesting creatures. We saw several different shell types and some very very tiny shells with tiny tiny crabs in them!!
@Tempguestbrief - owh~ that's how it is. Okay. I'll try looking when I go to the beach again. (:
so? ummm....you had crabs? lol
@buddy71 - yeah, my friend had over a hundred in her makeshift crab "habitat" at one point. She let them all go after a few hours.
sounds kind of bad, huh? lol
I am jealous Rhonda . I never saw a hermit crab alive in my area .
I am glad you got a great time of vacation..
Love
Michel
@fauquet - Thank you Michel!! <3 <3
Awww...I'm so glad you shared this! A quick story. When we were kids we visited our Papaw at Texas City in the summer, and of course, we would go to Galveston to the beach. One year we gathered a bunch of those crabs in a bucket and took them home to Papaws house. I'm not sure how that little bucket of crabs ended up in the corner of the bathroom behind the clawfoot tub....but it did. That's where it stayed until we were well home in Georgia and Papaw finally found our stinky prize. I love you for reminding me of this. Peace
@shellisland - oh my!!
I know how stinky one shell with a live crab in it can be if it gets forgotten...but a whole bucket!!! Blessings!!
sounds like a nice trip for you
So happy for you we also went to the beach two weeks ago and had a marvelous time. We felt so blessed. Two of our children had never been before. We were right on the water and the three story condo was awesome everyone had a place to hang out and have fun together. The water was the best or was that the sand. LOL Your pics are beautiful again so happy for you!
Hey, long time! Welcome back and thanks for visiting my site again! God bless, ~ Pete

@mlbncsga - I just posted some pics from the beach. We were at Crystal beach on the bolivar peninsula. It was beautiful.
