For Dog lovers everywhere
Seen on the back of a catalog this morning....
It came to me
that every time
I lose a dog
they take a piece
of my heart with them
and every new dog
who comes into my life
gifts me with a piece
of their heart.
If I live long enough
all the components
of my heart
will be dog, and
I will become
as generous and
loving as they are.

Now that's something we can all wag our tails to. ;)
Beautiful! Must post on Facebook for my dog-loving friends!
@songoftheheart - have fun!
Now that is wonderful. I would have said cats instead of dogs.
That is so nice...makes me want a dog. I miss not having one.
For the past four months, Sweetie and I have been helping my son and his GF, by giving them a home, food, etc, until he deploys next month. It also includes the dog..
Personally, I have always been a cat lover.
I like dogs. Really, I do. But after having to deal with sons dog, I think I'm going to stick to cats. That is, if I decide to get ANY pet ever again!
I don't have one but they are the best people animals. Speaking of heart, dogs seem to have the most amazing ability to know what's in ours.
I can't imagine my life without my dog.
I love my dogs to death. I can't imagine life without them.
Sweet! And thanks for your comment!
I can only home that that would happen to my heart. Have you recently lost a dog? my last one was a year ago in May-my scottish terrier Lucy
@Babyboomerjill - no, i haven't but one of our bassetts is getting up there...i think he's 13. I do know how it feels to lose a doggy friend and other pets too. Just thought it was a lovely thought. Losing a friend to death can be somewhat the same. We give parts of our heart to them too!
We had only a dog since 1961 and when he died whe didn' t want another :too painful.
Love
Michel

@Peridot21 - Thanks for the rec... I love my Bassetts, but I don't have much energy for playing with them right now... sigh. I thought this was sweet.

I like that. Good thoughts.
@LGailGarrett - I'm glad you liked it.
