  • My only comment on the Newtown tragedy

    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

    The best lack all conviction, while the worst

    Are full of passionate intensity. (by Yeats, The Second Coming)

    This blog post by John Eldridge is worth reading:

     Why Newtown is More Important Than We Think...

    If you have time to read this, it states the position that Christianity ought to hold.... imho.

    Ransomed heart ministries has a lot of wonderful advice on marriage and family issues.

    Blessings and may you have much wisdom!

  • Ceremony Of Innocence Drowned. Should be a title for a book. I think people are learning more and more ways of becoming despicable until even our loving creator in Heaven must - look away.

    It seems that way when you ask for an answer to it all and receive only - silence ... Φ

  • @Kris0logy - yes..... and thanks much for the rec! :)

  • @dw817 - true, He won't look away forever.....just biding His good, patient and infinitely-unbelievably kind time.

  • I'm glad somebody still has Faith in the wake of this unspeakable tragedy.

  • @armnatmom - Faith in God, not in men... :)

  • @Tempguestbrief - It's true that many people's faith is in faith itself - without an objective person and those who blindly feel that all people are basically good....faith in mankind... inevitably lose that faith and become cynics.

    I really feel sad at these kinds of tragedies, and yet it is the fact of fallen mankind and his rebellion against God that is at the root of all of this.  Satan hates God and hates the human race that God created in His own image.

    Jesus is more than the only sinless man.  He is God come in the flesh (His first advent).   Faith in Him as Lord and Savior is the only faith worth having in times of crisis and at the end of each person's life.   I appreciate those whose comments advocate turning to the one true God for help and solace.

  • Thank you! Have a blessed Christmas! ~ Pete

  • I have just written a comment to a young xangan who was saying she loved a movie despite of murders and sexual violences in it . I have reacted vividly in saying with such movies and violent videogames it was not surprising the feeble minds are badly influenced and after they watched this or play with, try to speak  about Jesus with them !

    I wish you a merry Christmas , Rhonda.
    Love

  • Merry Christmas, Rhonda.

    Thanks for sharing.

    p.s. I had time to read John's blog. He is right. We are at war and it is spiritual and we see the physical affects of that war by great evil sometimes.
